The 7th Annual Regional Goods Expo (YÖREX) held in Antalya brought together regional goods from all over Turkey. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of branding and registered goods.
The 7th
Annual Regional Goods Expo (YÖREX) was held in Antalya with the attendances of
Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkci and TOBB President M. Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu.
TOBB President M.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkci toured
the expo and received information regarding various regional goods.
Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Antalya Commodity Exchange Chair Ali Çandır and
Antalya CCI Chair Davut Çetin for the organization. The TOBB President thanked
Minister Tüfenkci for his support for YÖREX and the business community.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said,
“YÖREX provides us with the opportunity to promote our goods and culture as
well as our national values. We support local development that is why all
public institutions should support this, especially Development Agencies. 13
are here, the goals is to bring all 26.”
- Geographical markers
Reporting that the
number of geographical markers has reached 189, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that
there are an additional 259 applications awaiting process, “I am proud of all
the Chambers and Exchanges here as well as the enterprising people of Anatolia.
Praise Allah, our country has people like you. Together we will strengthen
local dynamics and entrepreneurs to make Turkey prosper.”
- Praise for women entrepreneurs
“We are especially
proud of our women entrepreneurs,” said Hisarcıklıoğlu and went on, “As long as
men don’t put any obstacles in their way, there is nothing women cannot do. We
planted a seed at YÖREX, it has taken hold and will grow rapidly. YÖREX has
become a hope for integrating hundreds of regional goods into the economy. SMEs
promote their goods via YÖREX and form connections with larger companies. I
would like to congratulate ant thank everyone who has contributed and expended
effort in service to this success.”

Customs and Commerce
Minister Bülent Tüfenkci stated that the ideas, brands and products which make
the economy grow are those which come from regional goods, “The world is
undergoing globalization while the local and regional continue to gain value.”
Tüfenkci pointed to the importance of expos for regional goods to gain economic
value, underlining the fact that Turkey is greatly endowed in regards to
regional goods.

Antalya Commodity
Exchange Minister Ali Çandır pointed out Anatolia’s great potential, stating
that YÖREX and similar expos are instrumental in actualizing this potential.
Antalya CCI Chair
Davut Çetin stated that great results can be achieved in the economy if there
is cooperation.
- Condolatory visit to victims of explosion
TOBB President M.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkci visited
the Antalya Chamber of Industry where an explosion in the parking lot injured
several people, extending their condolences and get well wishes.
