TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his statement regarding the terror attack which caused death and injury to many in İstanbul stressed that terror is a crime against humanity which won’t benefit anybody, condemning those who hoped to gain by it.
Hisarcıklıoğlu's
message is as follows:
“Last night, terror
showed once reared its heinous face. Unfortunately, there has been a great deal
of suffering for our nation and all mankind. Our heart burns.
We witnessed once
again how cruel some so-called people can be in an unconscionable moment of
savagery thanks to those who embrace terror.
No creed would allow
innocent life to be snuffed. No material, spiritual, political purpose can be founded
on killing. No school of thought, no human being can be content in doing this.
The perpetrators of these murders are condemned before history.
On behalf of the
Turkish business community I pray for the martyrs who gave their lives on the
day before the Mawlid An-Nabi which we are observing today. As a member of a
religion which decrees that, ‘whoever kills a person kills all humanity,’ we
will all pray together for our martyrs and the prosperity of our nation.
The condemnation of
conscientious people will be upon those who hope to gain by such cruelty. We
wholly believe that the government will bring those responsible to account.
Terror can take lives
from us, but will never harm our unity and solidarity; our determination to
walk together towards a brighter tomorrow.
Turkey is the
identity and home of those have bound their fates together in these lands;
those who look to the future with hope; those who believe in fraternity and
human dignity. It will remain so forever. This will be the hardest slap in the
face for those who adopt terrorism to implement their goals.”
