TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi and Customs and Trade Minister Bülent Tüfenkci attended the last council meeting of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) in 2016. In his address the guest President Thaçi said, “July 15th is a black day. I said it then and I say it now: No tank can crush the power of this nation. Whoever Turkey considers terrorists, so do we.”
Speaking at ATO, Thaçi
pointed out that Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo's
independence and emphasized the business alliance between the two countries.
“We are an hour away
from İstanbul, two hours from Frankfurt and, three hours from London,” Thaçi
said, pointing out that Kosovo, as a young state, offers many opportunities.
Thaçi reporting that Turks
are leading investor in many sectors, especially in the construction sector,
emphasized that Turkish companies are very successful in Kosovo, “The path to business
cooperation between the two countries is completely open. You will feel at home
in our country.”
Bülent Tüfenkci,
Minister of Customs and Trade, stated that the Law on Movable Securities in
Commercial Transactions will enter into effect on January 1st, 2017,
“We have completed secondary regulations on the legislation.”
Minister Tüfenkci
said that next year will be much better than 2016, “You will see the change in
the region; you will see the development of relations between Iraq and Turkey,
and hopefully you will see the increase in trade.”
ATO Chairman Gürsel
Baran stated that are holding the first Council meeting after the elections and
said, “We thank all of our members who exercised their free will in the
elections.”
