TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu evaluated the referendum results. Stating that a major source of uncertainty is behind us with the completion of the referendum process, Hisarcıklıoğlu said the following:
“Once again
democratic process has been implemented in Turkey; national will has manifested
itself and the nation has made its choice. With the new system, it will be
possible to make decisions and execute faster.
We expect an acceleration
of the workings of the state and reflections of this in the private sector. A
major source of uncertainty is behind us with the completion of the referendum
process. The private sector will be able to better forecast and invest more
comfortably in future.
As Turkey, we have
shown great economic development in the last 15 years. We raised from 3,000 USD
to 12,000 USD per capita income. We moved from low-tech production to mid-tech
production. However, conducting business in the world, the production goods, is
changing incredibly rapidly. Reaching 25,000 USD per capita income is not
possible by doing what we have done until today. We must now focus on tomorrow,
join in a common vision and community around a singular goal and advance together
towards the future.
We have to revive the
reform process to combat the negative perceptions which are being attempted to
be formulated against our country, both inside and out; and to restore
investors’ confidence and continue to enrich our country; and we should show
our new success story to the whole world.”
