TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the İzmir Branch of the IMEAK Chamber of Maritime Trade.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
emphasized the importance of historical trade routes and said, “It is for our
future, in terms of wealth and political stability. Whoever lives on historic
trade routes will not want instability. We have missed an opportunity to this
end but we still have alternatives going forward. We have the opportunity.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu explained
that maritime trade is indispensable, “The cheapest way of transportation is
the sea. Without trade, people cannot prosper. The way for the people to be
rich is through trade.”
Whoever advanced
their maritime trade ruled the world. Maritime trade is indispensable for us. The
geography we find ourselves in makes maritime affairs important for us. Our gateways
to the world are actually our seas. This is a great opportunity. Maritime is
also very important for tourism. Tourists who leave the most money are maritime
tourists. We need to pay attention to this.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu
reminded that the lease period of 49 years has begun in shipyards and that the
rent amount was reduced to 0.1% of turnover, “The government fulfilled our
requests. We also worked together to get the incentives for flying Turkish flags.
What matters is that a public bank finances the maritime industry in
shipbuilding. The most important point is financing Turkish-made ships with
Turkish flags. There will be an economy-oriented period in our country.
Certainly, you must make a decision in this direction.”
İMEAK Izmir Chamber
of Maritime Trade Izmir Branch President Yusuf Öztürk provided information
about the activities and activities of the chamber and conveyed the problems
they experienced in maritime trade and shipbuilding.
Hisarcıklıoğlu and
accompanying figures later visited the new building of the IMEAK Chamber of Maritime
Trade.
In addition to

Kudbettin Arzu, Vice TOBB President Ender Yorgancılar, TOBB Board Member Hakan
Ülken and TOBB ETU Hospital Chairman Şadan Eren were also present during the
