The 73rd General Assembly of TOBB was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said at the inauguration of the General Assembly, “This is a time for solidarity and a focus on the future for a stronger Turkey. Today is the time to build a much more beautiful tomorrow for Turkey.”

Tayyip Erdoğan, Ministers, TOBB delegates, representatives of the media and
press participated in the General Assembly held at the TOBB ETU Sports Hall
hosted by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that decisions will
be made faster under the new government system which strengthens and
accelerates by governance. “The acceleration of the impulses in the state and the
streamlining of bureaucracy will reflect positively on the private sector. This
is a time for solidarity and a focus on the future for a stronger Turkey. Today
is the time build a much more beautiful tomorrow for Turkey. Decisions will be made
faster under the new government system which strengthens and accelerates by governance.
Thus, we will be able to prepare a new model for growth and a development leap in
the economy.”
Stating that Turkey has shown great
economic progress in the last 15 years, Hisarcıklıoğlu underlined that it is
now time to focus on the future and march together towards the future. Focusing
on the importance of reviving the flame of reform, the TOBB President said that
they will work together to show a new growth story to the whole world.

Speaking at the TOBB General Assembly President
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “There have always been complaints in regards to high
interest rates. As prime minister and president, I have always kept it on the
agenda and still do. I will say this very clearly: I see high interest rates as
exploitation. This isn’t just profit-oriented; this is clearly exploitative.”
President Erdoğan thanked everybody who contributed
to the development and growth of Turkey under TOBB’s umbrella; who gave of
their sweat and effort. Erdoğan stated that the General Assembly is attended by
elected select members of chambers and commodity exchanges representing 81
provinces.
Erdoğan pointed out that the business community
is the opinion leaders of their cities and, at the same time, they are
representatives of civil society. Erdoğan said, “This hall is in fact a reflection
of Turkey with the wide range of business, ideas and world views represented by
our representatives. Without the locomotive power, driving force, efforts and
support of our business community, it is impossible for us to attain our goals.
Our greatest source of power is your will, excitement and energy; you who
produce, create jobs, export goods and strive for the betterment for all.”
