M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), celebrated “Insurance Week,” in which events are held during last week of May every year in order to increase the awareness in regards to insurance throughout the country.
Hisarcıklıoğlu's message is as follows:
“We need a healthy insurance system to manage the risks in every aspect
of life.
Global warming and increasing catastrophic risks, an aging population,
instability in the countries of the region and rapidly developing technology has
further increased need for insurance products.
It is no longer possible to see ourselves fully secured by just insuring
our car, our home and our workplace. As an individual, we need to have our life
insurance, personal accident and health insurance as well as vehicle and
housing insurance.
In a more complicated economy, businesses need to focus on specific
types of insurance according to their areas of activity.
Today, all businesses need traditional business and product insurances
as well as receivables, export insurances and various liability insurances.
Our country’s expectation from the insurance sector is that the Turkish
business community and citizens are provided with the guarantees they need at
reasonable prices.
Our country has the power, experience and loyalty to fulfill its
responsibilities in the insurance sector.
We also need to focus our efforts on transferring our risks to
insurance, working harder and expanding our businesses and economy.
I would like to sincerely celebrate the Insurance Week of the Turkish
business sector, especially the insurance agents the sector and the citizens of
our country sincerely.”
