The Regional Meetings of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) were completed with the Marmara Region. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that presidents of chambers and stock exchanges should inform their members about the activities they are engaged in and that the Turkish private sector should be able to benefit from the opportunities of the whole business community.
There
were extensive presentations on the macroeconomic situation in the last 6
months, such as those demands from the government, evaluations of the
questionnaires, and responses from council members.
Referring
to the fact that all the economies in the east and west are in general growth,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the growing economies will come to mean more trade and
profits. Noting that these growth trends could create significant opportunities
for increasing trade and new investments, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that a 5% growth
in the Turkish economy is also encouraging. TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said
that they believed that the growth would continue in the next quarter.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
underlined the fact that the positive effects of these economic measures are
now beginning to manifest when he talked about the wishes of the chambers and commodity
exchanges to be taken into consideration by the government.
Hisarcıklıoğlu,
recalling to mind their promise to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in regards to
employment, underlined the fact that they’ve reached 1.5 million jobs in 1 year
and 1.2 million in 6 months.
