Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new service building of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey will continue to grow and strengthen despite all odds, preserving its unity and solidarity.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
thanked the people at event and emphasized unity and solidarity, saying, “Our
culture has a beautiful saying. Grace and prosperity in unity; anguish in
dissent. In this context, our Kayseri is an exemplary city in Turkey. I thank
you for this unity.”
Pointing
out that Kayseri Chamber of Commerce is a 5-star accredited chamber, the TOBB
President said, “Chambers and commodity exchanges around the world have a star
system. We set a goal for our chambers and commodity exchanges 4.5 years ago.
If Turkey is going to be one of the top 10 economies in the world, our chambers
/ exchanges that serve merchants and industrialists should also be 5 stars.
Today, out of 365 chambers / exchanges, 255 have become 5-star. The Kayseri Chamber
of Commerce, Chamber of Industry and Commodity Exchange are 5-star. London
Chamber of Commerce, Paris Chamber of Commerce, Berlin Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, and Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Commodity Exchange
provide the same standard of service.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu
said, “The Kayseri Chamber of Commerce has been working for a long time. They’ve
prepared a great portfolio. The Kayseri Spiced Sausage, Kayseri Beef Bacon and
Kayseri Dumplings have been accepted for as EU geographical marker status. I
hope when the process is finished, these will become brands in Europe.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
stated that when asked what chambers/ exchanges do, “Tell them chambers / exchanges
are making their cities into brand names. They are providing added value to
their cities. They offer 5 star service to their members. They provide cheap
financing. >They vouch for 277,000 members. They decrease labor costs. What else
do you want them to do?”
Minister
of Environment and Urbanism Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Customs and Trade
Bülent Tüfenkci, TOBB Board Members Selçuk Öztürk and Hakan Ülken and TESK
President Bendevi Palandöken also attended the ceremony.
