"Kapurcuk Culture and Gastronomy House" was opened in Muğla in the province of Marmaris to promote the city's culture and gastronomy, which will encourage the revival of lost professions. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Grace and prosperity in unity; anguish in dissent. If we want to go further and become richer, there is no other way but unity.”
The
opening of Kapurcuk Culture and Gastronomy House was attended by M. Rifat
Hisarciklioglu, President of the Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges
(TOBB), Muğla Governor Esengül Civelek and protocol members. TOBB President
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the theme of the culture house is not only limited
to economy and tourism but also important in terms of conveying the values
and culture of the civilization and transmitting it to future generations.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
said, “Marmaris is the apple in the eye of Turkey with its nature and the
values it has cultivated; it has a great climate, nature, soil and such
beautiful people. I believe that we will write a good success story here. If we
want to be rich, there is only unity, there is no other way.”

Governor
Civelek also noted that Marmaris, which has a rich history, is home to
different cultures and that it is located in an important place with its
historical, cultural and natural beauties. He explained that the culture house
is an example to other projects. He explained that here the connection with the
past will be established and the individual and society will benefit.
Marmaris
Chamber of Commerce Chair Mehmet Baysal, also the owner of the company which
brought the culture house to life, expressed that it would contributed to the
county’s tourism.
Baysal
emphasizes that they have built the culture house to live the values of the
past, “The top floor is the everyday life of Marmaris, while downstairs
presents visitors with lost tastes. The lost professions of the county and
information about the culture of Marmaris are also presented to visitors.”
- Kapurcuk
The
79-year-old building of the Culture and Gastronomy House, called Kapurcuk, was
originally restored and furnished with antique items belonging to Marmaris culture.
The house is made up of three separate parts, describing lost tastes, cultural
heritage, and disappearing professions, as well as local and organic products.
Kapurcuk house will be open to visitors every day between 10:00 and 22:30.
