TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the new service building of the Muğla Commodity Exchange. Speaking at a meeting hosted by Muğla Commodity Exchange Chair Hasan Gökmen, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Muğla is a city of history and tourism as well as an agricultural city at the same time. On the subject of partnership culture, the TOBB President stated that the way to win and succeed in trade is through good partnership culture.
TOBB
President M. Rifat Hisarciklioglu emphasized that there is a significant share
of agriculture in the economy of Muğla, "This is the world’s pine
production capital. Muğla is in the first place in marine aquaculture fishing
and pine honey; second in honey and pomegranate production; third in almonds,
citrus, sesame, tomatoes, olive oil. You are among the top five in the
production of lemon, lettuce, loquat, arugula, mandarin and orange. Such a
fertile soil is a blessing. Moreover, you are exporting the products you
produce. Last year you exported 160,000 tons (662 million TRY) agricultural
products and 48,000 tons (1 billion TRY) water products. We need to take
lessons from the Russian crisis. We need to develop alternative markets for
fresh fruits and vegetables.”
Noting
that Muğla also embraces its values, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the
chamber has applied for geographical markers for Muğla's tarhana, palaylısıfte
and pine honey. Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated the people of Muğla people for embracing
their values, and said, “After registering in Turkey, they are also registered
in the EU. Afterwards all these products will be referred to Muğla. It will be
known in the world with the taste of Muğla. This is my 11th visit to
Muğla. We are in Muğla for good works. Many thanks to Hasan Gökmen who brought
us together on this meaningful day. The reason we are here today is the opening
of our new service building. When I came to Muğla last time, we all laid the
foundation of our service building together. Now the commodity exchange service
buildings are becoming the most modern service buildings of ours. Because of their
vision, I congratulate the Muğla Commodity Exchange. Both TOBB and Muğla
Metropolitan Municipality, Muğla CCI and Fethiye CCI put down the resources
necessary for the new service building. I thank you for your peace of mind for
those who contributed to the new service building of our Exchange due to this
spirit of unity and cooperation.
There
is a honey sales hall at the commodity exchange market along with the Olive Oil
Sensory Analysis Laboratory which is also very important for Muğla. I
congratulate Hasan and the administration for doing these beautiful things. We
are working together with Chairman Hasan Gökmen in the TOBB Request Review
Commission.
Muğla
Commodity Exchange Chairman Hasan Gökmen said, “Now our goal is to complete our
ISO 9000 and accreditation efforts.”
