TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Çanakkale has a special meaning for Turkey, saying, “Çanakkale is the city that heralds the resurrection of this nation. Today we stand tall, live in this land, only thanks to the national resistance and the spirit of independence started in Çanakkale. Çanakkale is where hope turns to faith and faith into success. May Allah see fit to give us the strength to protect these lands, this homeland, and let us be a nation worthy of the inheritance of our ancestors.”
The TOBB President pointed out that they are proud of the Çanakkale CCI and
CE and, emphasizing that they are 5-star Accredited Chamber/Exchanges, providing
their members with the same standards as London, Paris and Berlin chambers.
Touching on the fact the biggest complaint of the business community is
high employment costs, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Çanakkale is among the three most
successful provinces in Marmara in the Employment Mobilization initiated on the
instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's.
Pointing out that the Çanakkale economy is progressing well,
Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that Çanakkale economy is above the national average.
The TOBB President said, “The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge will revive in the
Çanakkale economy. You will connect Europe to Anatolia. You will become a crossroads
for all Marmara transit lines.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Çanakkale is rich in history and tourism and
said:
“There is history; there is the sea. Allah has given you everything, you
have terrific lands. When you look at Çanakkale, praise Allah, there is peace,
there is everything you would want. There are 109 different local products in
Çanakkale, 35 of these are organic products and Çanakkale in the top 10 in
organic agriculture in Turkey.”
Referring to Çanakkale's famous Ezine Cheese, Hisarcıklıoğlu also
pointed out that there are important initiatives of the commodity exchange and “Chairman
Kaya Üzen has really made a great effort for attaining a geographical mark for
Ezine Cheese.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu presented the awards of the members of the commodity exchange
as well as a plaque to TOBB Delegate Salamon Halyo a founding member of the Çanakkale
Commodity Exchange and is currently serving as Vice President but has announced
that he will not be participating in the elections for the next term.
