TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking at the Osmaniye Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Osmaniye Commodity Exchange Joint Award Ceremony, expressed that he is honored to be in Osmaniye, the home of the valiant and the city of the fortresses, which holds an important place in the hearts and the economy with its plains and peanuts.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Chamber and Commodity Exchange Chairmen,
who are the main representatives of the Osmaniye merchants and industrialists,
hand in hand and prepared this awards ceremony, “I would like to thank the Osmaniye
Chamber and Exchange for relation which should be an example for every city.
Why is it important? I'm the president of 365 chambers / exchanges. If there
are two institutions in a city, there will be contention. But here the chamber and
the exchange are working together. Grace and prosperity in unity; anguish in
dissent. If you work together you will achieve success. I am proud of Osmaniye Chamber
and our Commodity Exchange.”
Pointing out that Osmaniye CCI is Accredited, the TOBB President said, “There
is a world-wide star rating system for chambers / commodity exchanges similar
to hotels. Osmaniye Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a 5-star chamber. It
offers service quality to its members on par with European standards such as to
be found in Paris and London. From foreign trade to business life, they provide
training in many subjects as well as supporting entrepreneurs.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu also noted that the Osmaniye Commodity Exchange has
continuously increased its service capacity with the opening of the aflatoxin analysis
laboratory in 2014 and the grain analysis laboratory in 2015.
Hisarcıklıoğlu, congratulating Osmaniye CCI Chairman Murat Teke and Osmaniye
Commodity Exchange Chairman Sait Çenet for their work, said, “We work with both
chairmen together in Ankara. We cooperate with Murat Chairman in the ECO CCI
and with Chairman Sait in the TOBB's Economic Policy Commission. I am very
happy to work side by side with them. Osmaniye can expect a bright future their
and your efforts.”
The TOBB President noted that Osmaniye is at the crossroads connecting
Çukurova to the east. “Since the port is close to the airport as well as the
big cities in the vicinity, Osmaniye is a future trade and industrial base.
Osmaniye should become the logistics center of its region. Osmaniye OIZ is
connected to Erzin Port. This issue was important because, in the rapid
development of Osmaniye, OIZ contributed a great deal.
Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep High-speed train line construction work is
under way.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Osmaniye deserves all these investments, “You
are second amongst the provinces with the fastest increasing average annual
exports in the last 15. Of the top 1000 industrial establishments in Turkey,
there was none from Osmaniye ten years ago. Now you have 3 companies based in
Osmaniye.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu responded to the requests for the production of the
domestic automobile in Osmaniye, “The minister is in charge of coordination for
the government, and I am in charge of coordination for the private sector. I
must state that Osmaniye is one of the most important provinces in this
endeavor.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu, referring to Osmaniye's request for a technical
vocational high school, “One of TOBB's first schools was Osmaniye Science High
School, one of the most successful science schools in Turkey. TOBB Science High
School has produced a national valedictorian. He chose to continue his
education at TOBB ETU, one of the top three universities in Turkey, with the
support of his school. Who does TOBB ETU belong to? Everyone in this room. We
promised 81 schools for 81 provinces. There are 12 provinces left. After
completing them, we will consider more if we are in office.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that they worked together with Chamber and Stock
Exchange Presidents, reported that by producing solutions for both the Osmaniye
and the Turkish economy and transmitting the proposals, which the government
has also positively approached.

Science, Industry and Technology Minister Faruk Özlü also announced that
they have seen a steel mill in Osmaniye on world standards and congratulated Tosyalı
Holding Chairman Fuat Tosyalı for their investments in the city.
Emphasizing that the Osmaniye OIZ today has laid the foundations for a
Technology Development Center, Özlü stated that techno-parks will host and
produce high added value businesses.

Osmaniye Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Murat Teke also said
that they are lucky to have Hisarcıklıoğlu as president, and that they are very
active in the many endeavors which open the way for the Turkish business community.
Sait Çenet, Chairman of the Osmaniye Commodity Exchange, stated that
they’re doing their part in order to find a solution problems facing commodity
exchanges.”
