TOBB representative Hakan Kızıltoprak was elected Chairman of the Industrial Contact Representatives Board of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Kızıltoprak and said, “It is imperative for sustainable success at CERN to increase the human power and take collective steps with public institutions. This is an indication of our successful interactions with CERN. TOBB CERN Industry Liaison Office provides support at every step for our industrialists in CERN public tenders.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu, pointing out that CERN initiated its enlargement policy in
2010, said that 22 members of CERN are full members, 3 members are partner members,
working towards full membership while 4 members are partner members of which Turkey
is one.
Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that CERN procures goods and services reaching
an average of 600 million USD per year with its award-winning Procurement Procedures
and Group, “The European Nuclear Research Center, which requires high-level
evaluation criteria with detailed and demanding technical specifications in its
purchases, is also draws the interest of Turkish companies which put forth
their quality and products with their accumulation of technology and knowledge.The CERN Industry Liaison Office established in TOBB also provides
participation coordination for the tendering processes of companies in Turkey
at this point and supports the tendering processes.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the TOBB CERN Industry Liaison Office,
representing Turkey, signed a first at the European Nuclear Research Center. He
reported that the TOBB Presidential Special Counselor and Turkey CERN Industry
Contact Representative Hakan Kızıltoprak was elected Chairman of the CERN Industrial
Contact Representatives Board.

Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated the CERN Industry Liaison Office and
Kızıltoprak, “The research carried out in the field of high energy physics and
the awards won at CERN, one of the few centers in the world with the
technologies they use, are extremely important in terms of proving the
competencies of Turkish industrialists and their brands. TOBB CERN Industry
Liaison Office provides support at every step for our industrialists in CERN public
tenders.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that 131 people from institutions and
universities in Turkey and 42 Turks working in universities or institutions
abroad are doing research at CERN. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that this number
needs to be further increased and continued work should create added value for
the country.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is imperative for sustainable success at CERN
to increase the human power and take collective steps with public institutions
and pointed out the importance of the two-year term of Kızıltoprak, who was
elected as CERN Industry Contact Representatives Chairman in the direction of
Turkey's 2023 targets.
