EUROCHAMBRES Vice Chairman and TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu will continue to serve in the 2018-2019 period as Vice Chairman of the Council on the Eurochambres.
Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the General Assembly of the European Chambers of
Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES), held in Brussels. Accompanying Hisarcıklıoğlu
were TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken, Adana CCI Chairman Atila Menevşe, Bolu CCI
Chairman Türker Ateş and Kahramanmaraş CCI Chairman Serdar Zabun.
At the EUROCHAMBRES General Assembly, the new Presidential Council to
serve in 2018-2019 was decided upon.
The Council will be comprised of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber
President Christoph Leitl as EUROCHAMBRES President while TOBB President Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu, France Chambers Union President Pierre Goguet, Wolfgang Grenka
on behalf of the Germany Trade and Industry Association, Poland Chamber of
Commerce Vice Chairman Marek Kloczko will serve as Vice Chairman; Hellenic
Chambers Chair Constantine Michalos, Stephen Müchler, Chief Executive of the
Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ian Talbot, CEO of the Chamber of
Ireland will serve as Vice President.
Members of the Budget Committee were also selected. TOBB European Union Department
Chief Mustafa Bayburtlu will represent TOBB in the EUROCHAMBRES Budget
Committee.
EUROCHAMBRES is the European business umbrella organization representing
44 European countries, 1700 regional and local trade and industry chambers, 20
million businesses generating 120 million jobs.
After the EUROCHAMBRES General Assembly, TOBB delegation visited, Turkey's
European Union Permanent Representative, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, receiving
information about the current state of Turkey - EU relations.
