TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended Turkey-EU High-Level Economic Dialogue (YDED) meeting held on 8th December 2017 in Brussels. Meeting was held under the co-presidency of Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek on behalf Turkey and European Commission Deputy President Jirki Katainen on behalf of EU.
Following the
first meeting of Turkey-EU YDED held in April 2016 in Istanbul, the second
meeting held in Brussel gathered business world and governments from Turkey and
European Union.
Giving a
speech during the meeting TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has underlined
TOBB requests concerning dialogue for visa liberalisation between Turkey-EU
liaisons, modernisation of customs union, co-operation for Syrian refugees and
revitalization of accession negotiations between Turkey-EU.
Within the
review for the meeting Hisarcıklıoğlu said followings;
“Firstly,
this meeting took place with a positive agenda. It was concentrated on further
development of business connections between Turkey and European Union.
Representatives of umbrella organisations of business world from Turkey and
European Union have participated in this meeting. Additionally, companies from
Turkey and European Union countries have also participated the meeting.
Representing Turkish business world TOBB, TÜSİAD, DEİK, TESK, TİM, TİSK,
MÜSİAD, TÜRKONFED, KAGİDER, TOBB Woman Entrepreneurs Board, İKV, YASED and
TEPAV along with Ford Otosan on behalf of Koç Group attended the meeting. Representing
the EU business world Eurochambres, Business Europe, European Service Forum,
See Telecom and Glaxo. Smith Kleine attended.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu,
within programme has attended the luncheon hosted by European Commission Deputy
President Jirki Katainen.
Following the
meeting Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Minister of Custom and Trade Bülent
Tüfenkçi paid a visit to TOBB Brussel Office and debriefed regarding the works.
