TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended Turkey – Uzbekistan Business Forum held in Tashkent. At the Forum development of co-operation possibilities have been discussed.
Following farewell ceremony held in Ankara Esenboğa Airport by Uzbekistan
Ambassador to Ankara Alisher Agzamkhodjaev, arriving to Tashkent Hisarcıklıoğlu
and accompanying delegation fisrt paid a visit to Turkey’s Ambassador to
Tashkent A. Başar Şen. Ambassador Şen, informed the delegation about Turkey-Uzbekistan
liaisons.
Thereafter meeting with President of Uzbekistan Chamber of Industry and
Commerce (ÖSSP) Atham İkramov, Hisarcıklıoğlu then together with accompanying
delegation attended Uzbek-Turkish Business Forum held in capital Tashkent.
Giving a speech at the forum, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his appreciation for
being in Uzbekistan and also said that there are very strong bond with Uzbekistan
above and beyond brotherhood.
Expressing that Uzbekistan being the heart of Turkish nation and Asia
region, Hisarcıklıoğlu said "Uzbekistan with its almost 35 million young
and dynamic population forms the half of Central Asia. Being amongst world’s
major producers of natural gas, uranium and cotton, Uzbekistan promises a great
future. Uzbekistan with the initiated development move is in the star country
which is expected to achieve fastest growth and enrichment during the next 10
years in Central Asia."
Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they have been following works which reinforce
business and investment environment carried out by Uzbekistan President Şavkat
Mirziyoyev who paid an official visit to Turkey in October.
Reminding that within the scope of Mirziyoyev's visit back in October they
met up and discussed the joint projects which shall be carried out,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said "Our goal is to increase our bilateral trade to 5
billion dollars. Furthermore, we would like to make more investments to Uzbekistan.
Strong connection and consensus between Presidents of Turkey and Uzbekistan also
encourages us."

Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that the transformation and development process of
Uzbekistan is best comprehended by Turkish businessmen, also said experiencing
such process in the beginning of 80's, Turkey now achieves 160 billion dollars
of exportation, in tourism become one the first 6th destinations in
the world and ranking second in construction sector in the world.
Stating that currently the volume of the total work that Turkish constructors
get globally is worth approximately 25 billion dollar, Hisarcıklıoğlu said
followings;
"Mirziyoyev's declaring 2018 as the year of entrepreneurism shows how
visionary leader he is. As a businessman myself I am very glad about that. We
provide service to 1.5 million tradesmen and industrialist, bridging the gap
between them and the government. Within this framework, we are ready to share
our own knowledge, experience and practices to our Uzbek brothers as we did to
Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. As TOBB, we are ready to our best for Uzbekistan Chamber
of Industry and Commerce. We need to put establishment of associated chamber on
our agenda. The stronger Uzbekistan Chamber of Industry and Commerce gets the
more powerful Uzbek traders and industrialist shall become."

Speaking at the Business Forum ÖSSP President Atham İkramov said that
Uzbek-Turk Business Forum would be an important drive for development of
co-operation between two countries regarding commercial, economic and
investment areas.
Underling that this year new phase in liaisons between Uzbekistan and
Turkey had started in the direction of joint will of presidents of two
countries, İkramov also stated that within the scope of Mirziyoyev's visit to
Turkey very important commercial, economic and investment agreement had been
signed.
İkramov, pointing out that during the 9 months of this year the foreign
trade volume between two countries had increased by 30 percent, also said
"Uzbekistan particularly values for the development of multi-perspective
co-operation with Turkey. In this context works for formation of Uzbekistan
Trade Centre as well as Uzbek-Turkish Associated Chamber of Industry and
Commerce in Istanbul is in progress. This forum shall be greatly contributing
to actualisation of new joint projects between parties."
Ambassador to Tashkent Ahmet Başar Şen pointing out the importance of the
visit paid by TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and accompanying delegation to Uzbekistan,
also said as of November 2016 consequent to the decree displayed by presidents
of two countries during their meeting in Samarkand, a new period in bilateral
relations.
Defining Uzbekistan as an up-and-coming country, Şen also reminded that the
country achieved many reform works lately and in September by taking a historic
step after 21 years the decision for going back to free exchange rate system
was carried into effect.
Şen told "The new Uzbek government’s determined steps based on
development of business and investment environment, broad vision, supporting
approach to domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, investors makes Uzbekistan
attractive country than ever. I would like to confirm that we, as Turkish government,
entrepreneurs and fellow Turkish citizens will give our best support possible
for swiftly achieving the targets set by Uzbekistan Presidents Mirziyoyev'.
Because for us powerful Uzbekistan means powerful Turkey."
Thereafter in Tashkent, Hisarcıklıoğlu separately met with Uzbekistan Prime
Minister Abdulla Aripov and Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister Cemşid
Kuçkarov.
Within the Uzbekistan programme Hisarcıklıoğlu and accompanying delegation
met with Reginal Governor in Semerkant Turabcan Djuravet and then paid a visit
to the burial place of Uzbekistan’s First President İslam Kerimov and mausoleum
of İmam Maturidi.
