Attending the Council Meeting for December of Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu while stated that they have concluded 2017 with a better performance than expected and also for 2018 he gave “hope” to the business world.
Council Meeting for December of ATO held in ATO
Meeting Room under the chairmanship of Nuri Gürgür Council President with the
speeches given by TOBB President M. Rİfat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Ankara Metropolitan
Municipality Mayor Mustafa Tuna and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATO Gürsel
Baran.
In his speech herein TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu
stated that Turkish economy had displayed a performance above and beyond
expectations in this year and also said “In the first 9 months we have achieve
7.9 percent of growth. By the end of this year we are expecting 6-7 percent
growth. The contribution of chamber community herein is immense. Banks used to
play hard to get for providing loans. There were difficulties in accessing
credit facilities. Thereupon we have facilitated TOBB Breathing Credit. We have
enabled credit grants with 9.9 percent rate. We have introduced best available
rate ever. Our Esteemed President defined our breathing credit as “innovation
in financing”. ATO was the most supporting chamber towards breathing credit.
ATO let its members to use almost 376 million lira worth of credit.

Next telling about how they have provided
3-year term interest-free credit worth of 50 thousand lira per firm from
KOSGEB, Hisarcıklıoğlu also mentioned that they have enabled credit through
Credit Guarantee Fund surety for 32 thousand firms. Hisarcıklıoğlu said “Fathers
do not stand surety for their sons, siblings do not stand surety for each
other. The establishment that you are member of is stands security for you. On
top of that they question the functionality of chambers and commodity exchanges.”
TOBB President noted that through those three projects in terms of financing
653 thousand firms have been reached out which was 65.3 percent of total number
of the members.
Stating that following growth figures second
achieved success was in employment area, Hisarcıklıoğlu added “We said a new
approach was needed for employment. Esteemed President along with 11 ministers
has listened our chamber and commodity exchange presidents for 8 hours. He gave
us support but in return he requested 1.5 million + 1 employment from us. We
then made a promise. Thank Allah we managed to keep our promise. We alone
achieved the number of employment achieved by Germany and France together”.
Thirdly speaking of the success achieved in
investments Hisarcıklıoğlu told that comparing last year 55 billion lira more
worth of investment had been made. Stating that they expected to reach
exportation volume worth of 160 billion dollars, Hisarcıklıoğlu revealed that by
the modernisation of custom gates they have quadrupled the capacity.
Also mentioning the national automobile matter
Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that upon the directive of President Recep Tayyip
Erdoğan, they have found and brought out 5 brave fellows in 5 months. Hisarcıklıoğlu
also added that incentives granted by the government had never be wasted and
private sector had achieved a significant growth figure by getting stronger.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu underlining that
they presumed 2018 would be better than this year also said “The highest growth
of last seven years of post-crisis might occur in 2018.”
In his speech ATO President Gürsel Baran while
expressing professional committees’ expectations and requests concerning Ankara
Metropolitan Municipality, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Tuna have
responded to those expectations and requests.
