Attended the Coordination Council for the Improvement of Investment Environment in Turkey (YOIKK) meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey need to attract more investments, to achieve peace and prosperity through public and private sector cooperation to achieve its goals.
The meeting of the Coordination Council for the Improvement of
Investment Environment in Turkey, in which Hisarcıklıoğlu took part, was
attended by Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ, Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet
Şimşek, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül,
Minister of Labor and Social Security Jülide Sarıeroğlu, Minister of
Development Lütfi Elvan and Minister of Environment and Urbanism Mehmet Özhaseki.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech that they’ve come
together to improve the investment environment in Turkey and to facilitate the
work of entrepreneurs.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The public and private sectors need to work out
the right strategy. We know very well that we are stronger and can move forward
Turkey more together.
On the 5th of May last year, we, business community, stated the
importance of a quicker decision mechanism at the YOIKK meeting. YOIKK is now
more important than ever. The point we’ve come to today is really a source of
pride. We’ve solved many issues unresolved for years in Turkey. We have seen the
issue discussed since the day when YOIKK was established has been resolved
today. There are very important issues such as the amendment of the Execution
and Bankruptcy Law, simplification of the single stoppage in company
establishments, simplification of construction permits and title deeds
processes, reduction of costs and duration of foreign trade transactions,
solving problems of SMEs accessing finance, e-government application and
relieving the burden of our entrepreneurs. These are all revolutionary works.
We all know very well that this process is not easy.”
Emphasizing that there is a great deal of labor behind all these endeavors,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they are ready to do their duty as Turkish business community.

Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ announced new reform packages at the Coordination
Council for the Improvement of Investment Environment in Turkey meeting. Akdağ
said, “We are aiming to enter the top 20 in the World Bank's ease of doing
business index within 2 years. We believe that Turkey deserves it. We have
prepared an action plan with over 100 points to this end.”

Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek, speaking at the meeting also emphasized
the need for studies to increase global investments, “We’ve seen how robustly
resistant Turkey is against shock. We are expanding our endurance with the
reforms that are coming today, with more on the way. Turkey’s strong
performance will continue.”
