TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım honors the February meeting of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) by attending, saying “Our country, aiming to be one of the top 10 economies of the world, has a performance and reform-focused and experienced prime minister. It is a great chance for us to have a Prime Minister who works hard and gives morale and courage to us. He has shown the importance he puts on consultation at every turn.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the government has taken many steps to
improve the business and investment environment and continues to do so. In
financing, KOSGEB and KGF also started to provide historical support. Last year,
boldly implemented tax cuts in various sectors helped revive the economy. We
have seen all these performances reflected in the figures. As of the first 9
months, we have achieved an economic growth of 7.4 percent, which is unusual in
the world. We thank President Erdoğan and the Prime Minister, on behalf of our
business community for giving us this vision and success.”
Emphasizing that the Ankara Chamber of Commerce has always been at the
forefront of every step of the economy, TOBB President said, “ATO did not
hesitate to make the necessary sacrifice. It fulfilled the responsibility of
being the primary representation mechanism of traders and entrepreneurs in
Ankara. As a result of ATO’s work in Ankara saw the 3rd highest
increase among provinces in employment in 2017. At the employment awards
ceremony that took place with President Erdoğan and your participation, ATO was
deemed worthy of this success. ATO also showed similar success in financing.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that TOBB and Chambers/Exchanges have put
TOBB Breathing Credit into effect to overcome this difficulty due to the reticence
of banks to loan last year and said, “We gathered all our resources together,
both TOBB, Chambers-Exchanges of 81 provinces. We provided commercial loans with
a rate of 9.9%. We applied the lowest interest rate ever applied. President Erdoğan
already said, 'You have made an innovation in financing', showing the
difference of our community.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the Ankara Chamber of Commerce has shown the difference
here and that it is the first among all provinces. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that ATO
has provided loans to approximately 3,500 members with a total loan volume of 376
million TRY, enabling the revitalization of the market in Ankara.
- Prime Minister Yıldırım
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said, “We have invested a total of 90
billion TRY into Ankara in the last 15 years. There is no other Ankara. It is
Turkey's capital; its future.”
Pointing out that ATO President Gürsel Baran has been in office for 14
months, Yıldırım said, “Chairman Baran has done quite a lot in 14 months. I am
grateful to Allah for his service to all of us, our country and our Ankara.”
Yıldırım said that the way to solve the problems is to talk, to come
together. Talk about everything, we must always look to each other.”
