Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that Respite Credits aimed at SMEs, launched under TOBB’s initiative, has received applications from 16,000 companies, reaching a volume of 2.5 billion TRY.
Hisarcıklıoğlu issued a statements regarding the Respite Credits
Project. Stating that, ‘Respite Credits,’ introduced in Izmir by Prime Minister
Binali Yıldırım, will provide strong support for SMEs, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that
they are very happy with the intense demand for the project.
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that, through a change dictated by Prime
Minister Yıldırım during the signing ceremony, the total credit volume increased
from 5 billion TRY to 7.5 billion TRY, “This week, we received applications
from 16,000 companies, reaching a volume of 2.5 billion TRY in the short period
of one week. 7,000 of 16,000 applications have already been approved while the
credit allocation process of the rest continues.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that chambers and exchanges, as well as the branches
of the banks which are supporting the project are expending extraordinary
amounts of effort throughout the process.
“I urge all of our SMEs to apply to the chamber/exchange which they are
registered with and then to Denizbank, Halkbank, Vakıfbank, Ziraat Bank, Vakıf Participation
and Ziraat Participation in order to benefit from the Respite Credits, which
have a monthly interest rate of 0.99%, annual rate of 11.88% with a maturity
period of 6 months. We extend our most sincere gratitude to our President Recep
Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and the government for providing
us the conditions to be able to provide our SMEs credit on such acceptable
terms.”
