EUROCHAMBRES (Union of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Christoph Leitl visited the TOBB Twin Towers after the receiving an Honorary Doctorate from TOBB University of Economics and Technology.
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu showed Leitl around the TOBB
facilities.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, EUROCHAMBRES President Leitl and
accompanying officials visited the Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkçi.
Tüfenkçi stating that EUROCHAMBRES is undertaking various projects in
order to improve European chambers’ capacity, to offer its members better
services and create a network for entrepreneurs, pointed out that TOBB is
undertaking a similar mission for Turkey.
- “Turkey's growth data is impressive”
EUROCHAMBRES President Leitl said the development data in recent times regarding
Turkey has been impressive, and said, “Observing the latest growth figures for Turkey,
it’s left China and India behind, becoming the fastest growing economy. One of
Turkey's goals is to becoming one of the top 10 economies in the world. I would
like to especially thank President of the EUROCHAMBRES Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu for
their contributions to the development of relations.”
Stating that they want an update to the Customs Union as well, Leitl
emphasized that, “This will be a solution which benefits both sides. We want to
increase our excellent economic ties with a country like Turkey.”
