The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The situation in which our country finds itself is actually not very different from the rest of the world. The world is undergoing a big change. This change needs to be read well by us.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu speaking at the 10th Ambassadors Conference
luncheon organized hosted by TOBB, said Turkey's international relations have
come a long way.
Stating that he has personally experienced this abroad, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed
out that the changes taking place in Turkey and ambassadors have had a major
impact on this success.
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasizing the great contributions of the Foreign Affairs
Ministry in regards to the increase of trade relations abroad said, “As TOBB
President, I am t proudest of the developments in the Palestinian conflict with
Israel. Before, the US President would mediate. The two presidents came to
Turkey for a joint project with Turkey and our President mediated. This is your
work.”
Reporting that demands from trade and chamber heads abroad for
establishing joint chambers are also coming in, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated they are
ready to establish this framework with a co-presidency system with the support
of ambassadors.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are ready to provide all kinds of
support on the international level as the business community and that, “The
situation in which our country finds itself is actually not very different from
the rest of the world. The world is undergoing a big change. This change needs
to be read well by us. The world economy is shifting from multilateral trade
agreements to bilateral agreements; becoming more insular. We need your support
and help now more than ever.”

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu
Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlüt Cavuşoğlu said, “In the coming period,
we would like to increase our business cooperation with TOBB and other umbrella
organizations and we appreciate your efforts.”
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that the task of the Turkish embassies abroad
is to develop relations in all fields between Turkey and the countries in which
they reside.
Stating that it is also a main concern of embassy to follow investments
and trade engagements as well as major projects undertaken by Turkish businessmen
abroad, Çavuşoğlu, said “We are supported by and see benefits from the Turkish
private sector as well as making use of the connections they make to further
develop relations with other countries.”
Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that exports and investments abroad should
be increased, adding that there are already great opportunities as well as
difficulties.
“In the coming period, we would like to increase our cooperation with
TOBB and other umbrella organizations and we appreciate your efforts,” said Çavuşoğlu.
Minister Çavuşoğlu pointed out that they’ve carefully read and noted the
declaration published yesterday by TOBB and the Turkish Industrialists and
Businessmen's Association (TÜSİAD) and that they would take advantage of such
constructive criticism.
Çavuşoğlu also stated that they benefited greatly from the work of the
Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and TOBB during his time as EU Minister.
Çavuşoğlu stated that relations with non-governmental organizations are
important for foreign policy. “We should continue our contact with civil
society organizations as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EU Directorate
as well as with all other institutions.”
