TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu issued a letter of condolence for economist and journalist Prof. Dr. Tevfik Güngör Uras, who was one Turkey’s the leading economy writers, “The field of economy and press have lost one of their important experts.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu, expressing his grief for the loss of Professor Dr. Tevfik Güngör Uras, said, “Dr. Uras, an important economist and academician, was a role model for members of the press.

Simplifying the most complex economic issues with his 'Aunt Ayşe and Uncle Ali Riza’ characters, making them understandable by everyone, making economic terms such as industry, trade, agriculture, production, familiar for our citizens.

I was deeply saddened by the loss.

The objective and sensitive approach that he has shown as a successful analytical talent, and as a pioneer, experienced and skillful writer in the press, will always be respected by the Turkish business community.

On behalf of the Turkish business community, I would like to extend my condolences to his family, to his family and to the Turkish press. I pray for the grace of Allah upon him, may heaven be his abode.”
