Organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), the Asia-Pacific Economic Summit, which aims to bring together the business communities of Asia-Pacific countries and Turkey, will be held on the 23rd and 24th of November, 2018, in Istanbul.
The
event organized with the “Asia: Expanding Boundaries” theme will be attended by
politicians, high-level representatives of international organizations,
high-level bureaucrats, academics and business representatives at the Istanbul Çırağan
Palace under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency.
Besides
contributing to the promotion of Turkey, the summit aims to engender a business
environment to provide future-oriented cooperation opportunities by bringing
together the Turkish and Asia-Pacific business communities is hosting around
300 international participants as of today.
Within
the scope of the conference, bilateral meetings will be provided for the
participants. Senior representative of several firms, including Krishan Kumar
Modi, CEO of Modi Group, one of the leading companies in India, Samir Modi,
Managing Director Samir Modi, Taiwanese CTBC Bank Vice-Presidents Chang-Fu
Huang and Nai-Wen Yu will be in Istanbul.

Evaluating
the preparations for the conference, CACCI Vice President and TOBB President M.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the Asia-Pacific Economic Summit will bring the
Turkish business world together with the Asia-Pacific business world and
provide the participants with the opportunity to meet with the business leaders
of the region and representatives of international organizations.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
stressed that they will create an environment where they can establish
strategic partnerships with new business and investment opportunities.
Hisarcıklıoğlu,
Vice President of CACCI and President of TOBB, pointed out that the 21st
century was seen as “the Pacific Century,” and said, “Economic developments
indicate that the center of gravity of the world economy is shifting to Far
Asia. We've entered the Pacific century.
On
one side there are innovation and technology giants like Japan and Korea. On
the other hand, this is the region which spans emerging markets such as
Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines and where all manner of
products are produced in different quality and scale. With over 3 billion
consumers, the largest global market is here.
CACCI
countries import approximately 5 trillion USD volume of goods and services
annually. We invite all business representatives to the Asia-Pacific Summit.”

The
Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) is an
organization established in Taiwan with the participation of 10 national
chambers of commerce in 1966, aiming to bring economic growth together in the
Asia-Pacific region by bringing together business communities.
The
Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry is the largest
business organization in the Asia-Pacific region, which covers 40% of the
world's population and 23% of the world economy, represents approximately 3
million companies from 28 countries.

CACCI
is comprised of the Chambers Unions of Australia, Papua New Guinea, New
Zealand, East Asia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, Russian

Singapore and Vietnam from South Asia Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and

The
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), became a CACCI
member in 2009. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has also been serving as
CACCI Vice President since 2014.
