TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has been re-elected Vice President of CACCI (Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry). The Indian businessman Samir Modi took over the role of CACCI President from Jemal Inaishvili.

President Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his evaluation regarding his re-election to
the CACCI Vice President, “First of all, I would like to thank you for your trust
in and support of me and TOBB. We will work to improve relations between Turkey
and Asia-Pacific countries in 2018-2020. I would like to thank to Mr. Jmal
Inaishvili for his services. Under his leadership, CACCI strengthened its
institutional structure and became a much more effective global business
organization. I wish success to Samir Modi, who has been elected as President
of CACCI. Mr. Modi is very esteemed. His first business experience was in
Turkey. Now he is taking over as President of CACCI in Istanbul. May our
country always bring him good fortune.”
The
CACCI 89th Council Meeting was held in İstanbul at the Çırağan
Palace with the participation of the CACCI Board of Directors and the
representatives of the member countries. CACCI executives for the 2018-2020
period were elected while reports of parallel sessions held during the day were
presented to the Council.
Prior
to the Council meeting, an agreement was signed between Pakistan Federation of
Chambers of Commerce and Industry and TOBB for the establishment of the Turkey-Pakistan
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum.
- Dinner with the participation of
Minister Varank
Following
the day-long meetings, the CACCI Conference participants and CACCI Board
Members met at the dinner hosted by TOBB President and CACCI Vice President M.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank also
attended the dinner.
