Meeting with the secretaries general of the chambers and exchanges of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that unity and solidarity lies at the foundation of the success of the community, “We have come together; we stood united and worked together. Many hands make light any endeavor and bring success. The keyword here for us is ‘unity.’ We are a big famility with our members, secretaries general, employees and chamber/exchange presidents.”

General Information Meeting was held in Rome spanning December 6th
through the 8th, 2018. TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu addressed the
general secretaries attending the event, urging them to give hope to the
community and the business world in order to elevate Turkey.

President Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the chambers and exchanges today are the
most important institutions of the cities, becoming the main actor of the
economy. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the chambers and exchanges have become
signatories to international projects. “You are providing resources from abroad
and working with European Chambers. Our 269 Chambers and Commodity Exchanges
are accredited according to international criteria. In other words, providing
the same quality of with the best chambers in Europe. Of course the goal is to
have all of our 365 Chambers-Exchange accredited. This would bring great
prestige to our chambers/exchanges. I believe you will achieve this.”

Yankın, General Manager of the Ministry of Commerce, told the secretaries that
they are working with TOBB on many reforms and regulations paving the way for
the business world. Yankın also provided information regarding many projects implemented
by the Ministry of Commerce recently such as Chattel Pledge Registry, Turkey
Trade Registry Gazette Digital Transformation Project, E-Commerce in the Trust
Seal, Licensed Warehouse Incentives, Product Specialization Exchanges and the
MERSİS Project.

Secretary General Mustafa Saraçöz reminded that they are holding the third
meeting for 365 Chamber/Exchange Secretaries General in the last year and a
half, “I am confident that our experienced colleagues and new secretaries will
increase the level of communication in this 3-day period, and that this will be
an opportunity to share experiences.”

Saraçöz, who provided information about the program which will last for 3 days,
“Overseas programs create a development environment in many respects and add to
our vision. We are planning to meet again in the first quarter of 2019 with you
in Ankara and carry out more technical studies. This will provide you preparation
time for your contributions to the meeting.”
