local development in addition to their business-oriented duties.”
- In the effort of better serving
the members of the chambers and exchanges
Hisarcıklıoğlu
stated that the ability of chambers and exchanges to fulfill their roles in the
healthiest way is directly connected to their service capacity. As the Chamber
and Exchange community, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they need to serve their
members better, to represent their members more effectively and to be more
sensitive to their environment. TOBB President and EUROCHAMBRES Vice President
M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they need to improve their service
capacities and range; improve the standard of service as well as being closer
to their members. As long as they can do so, they can better serve their
country, members and the chamber-exchange community.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
pointed out efforts to further increase the value of the chamber and the commodity
exchange, and said, “This has been our goal since 2001. We are working to make our
Chambers and Commodity Exchanges service bases for companies in Turkey. Throughout
this process, the European Union has provided us with support of around 16.5
million Euros. In addition to its own knowledge and experience at EUROCHAMBRES,
Europe's largest business organization, it has helped us bring the experience
of leading chamber systems from EU member countries to our country. On behalf
of our business world, I would like to thank the European Union and EUROCHAMBRES,
the latter of which I am proud to serve as Vice President. We started this
process with Chamber Development Projects in 2001. This was followed by the Turkey-EU
Chamber Forum and now Turkey-EU Business Dialogue project with which we
continue to support our and chambers and exchanges. With these projects, in
addition to providing support for our chamber/exchange service capacity, we
contribute to Turkey's EU accession process. We help the business communities
get to know each other more closely. We include our chambers and exchanges on platforms
for dialogue between the EU and Turkey. From the east to the west, throughout our
country, we show the EU vision. This most effective and increasingly stronger platform
for dialogue between the EU and Turkey, under the leadership of our chambers
and commodity exchanges, is driven by the business community. We know that we
need more dialogue. Therefore, this project will zoom in on the real actors of
our Turkey-EU integration we see as a very important project. " We help
