The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Economics and Technology University (TOBB ETU) experienced the excitement of graduation. TOBB ETU 2018-2019 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was hosted by TOBB ETU Board of Trustees Chairman and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TOBB ETU Rector. Dr. Güven Sak at the TOBB ETU Sports Hall.
In
his speech, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, recalling that it is the University's 12th
graduation ceremony, “Today, in this hall, we are together with Turkey's best
lawyers, the best engineers, young people who will shape the future of Turkey.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu
stated that TOBB ETU is the project of which he is proudest as a business
person and TOBB President, “You are well-educated engineers and lawyers who
know at least one foreign language, knows the world and has a year of work
experience even before graduating! and now you are part of Turkey's largest
non-governmental organization! You are the youngest members of the 1.5 million
TOBB and Chamber-Exchange community. We are proud of you. We expect much from
you!”

Stating
that TOBB ETU is a big family with students, alumni, parents, academicians and
business representatives, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Today we are among the best
young universities in the world. Our scientific research programs are
developing rapidly and the number of graduate and doctorate students and
faculty members is increasing rapidly.” Stating that TOBB ETU is an incubation
center established to develop a culture of entrepreneurship, working as a
project factory, TOBB ETU Board of Trustees Chairman and TOBB President M.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that TOBB ETU has reach 1 million TRY in pre-sales
for Turkey's first domestic drone which developed by its students.
Hisarcıklıoğlu mentioned that there are companies which compete with Microsoft
and export technology to Nokia with the developed 3D image transfer technology,
“This shows that the seeds we planted took hold. TOBB ETU has become a
university that exports ideas and technology to the world.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu
advised the newly graduated TOBB ETU members: “Whatever you do, never lose your
entrepreneurial spirit!” Stating that entrepreneurship is a life philosophy,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the key to success is to reject the status quo.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “I would like to give young people some advice. Imagine,
think big. Be sure to set targets for yourself. Work hard and never be afraid
to lose. Bring new ways to the old village. Set your own rules and principles.
Be the hero of your own story, not anyone else.”
