65th General Assembly of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Turkey National Committee was held at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Twin Towers. TOBB and the ICC Turkey National Committee President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the General Assembly and the plaque ceremony afterwards. Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, Konya Chamber of Commerce and İstanbul Chamber of Commerce for their achievements in the World Chambers Competition held in ICC 11th World Chambers Congress held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 12-14 June 2019, presenting them with commemorative plaques.
In
this competition; Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce competed in the category of the
most unusual project with 'Syrian Desk Project; Gaziantep Chamber of Industry,
Best Training Project category with 'Vocational Training Center Project'; Konya
Chamber of Industry competed with Regional Innovation Center Project in the
category of Best SME and Entrepreneurship Development Project, and Istanbul
Chamber of Commerce with 'Information Commercialization Center Project in the
category of Best SME and Entrepreneurship Development Project.

network spanning over 100 countries
TOBB
and Turkey ICC National Committee President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his
speech at the ICC Turkey's General Assembly, providing information about the
ICC's history and institutions, noted that ICC is the largest business organization
working to increase trade and investments in the world. Noting that ICC is
celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported
that it represents more than 1 billion employees in 100 countries with a
network of 45 million members.
Pointing
out that ICC has become a reference institution for increasing trade in the
world and removing barriers to trade by gathering private sector
representatives from different countries under one roof, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “In
our country, TOBB has assumed the duty of running the establishment and
activities of the ICC Turkey National Committee. ICC Turkey National Committee,
which operates under TOBB, since 1934, has been the ICC's representative in Turkey.”
Emphasizing
the issue of arbitration, Hisarcıklıoğlu explained that the International Court
of Arbitration, established as an organ of the ICC, leads the world in the
resolution of international commercial and business disputes.
