The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the ceremony wherein Çalık Holding Chairman Ahmet Çalık, for his contributions to the strengthening of relations between Turkey and Japan was awarded the “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon medal,” deemed worthy by the Emperor of Japan Naruhito. Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Çalık and wished continued success.

The ceremony, hosted by Japan's Ambassador to Ankara, Akio Miyajima, was attended by many guests from politics and business. Çalık Holding Chairman Ahmet Çalık, stated that he would cherish the medal with great pride throughout his life. Japanese Ambassador Akio Miyajima emphasized that despite the geographical distance between Turkey and Japan, their hearts are close.

Former Prime Minister and İzmir Parliamentary Representative Binali Yıldırım, stated that political, economic and trade relations between Japan and Turkey would continue to grow. Isao Ijima, Advisor to the Council of Ministers of Japan, also congratulated Ahmet Çalık on the award he received.
