The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Vice President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu was awarded by Pakistani President Arif Alvi for his contributions to the development of trade between Islamic countries.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
accepted the award on behalf of the Turkish business community and stressed
that as the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and the Islamic
Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, they will continue to work to
increase trade between Islamic countries.
- Islamic Arbitration Center in
Istanbul
Stating
that the Islamic Arbitration Center to be established in Istanbul will give
impetus to economic relations, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “During Turkey’s term as
chair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation of Turkey (OIC), our
President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ordered the establishment of an OIC Arbitration
Center in Istanbul. All technical works have been carried out and completed by
TOBB for the OIC Arbitration Center, which is envisaged to be established as an
affiliate of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA).
The agreement on the establishment of the Arbitration Center will be signed
between the Ministry of Commerce and ICCIA in Istanbul on November 27th,
2019.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu,
who also attended the Turkey-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum
meeting in Karachi, Pakistan, said economic relations between the two countries
should be improved. Bilateral business meetings were also held between Turkish
and Pakistani companies within the scope of the forum.
