The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the heads of companies of EU, UK and Swiss origin operating in Turkey, and the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) established by TOBB and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) via video conference method.
Attending
the meeting were AHK President Dr. Markus Slevogt, President of the
Turkish-French Chamber of Commerce, Zeynep Necipoğlu, President of the Italian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association Livio Manzini, President of the
Dutch Chamber of Commerce Turkey Office Caspar Van Haaften, Turkish, Belgian,
Luxembourg Trade Association President Levent Apaydın, Austrian Trade Advisor
and WKÖ Turkey Representative Georg Karabaczek, President of UK Chamber of
Commerce in Turkey, Chris Gaunt and President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce
in Turkey
The
subjects of development of bilateral trade relations throughout Covid-19,
problems in the supply chain, and the business environment in Turkey, the
importance of updating the Turkish-EU Customs Union were highlighted.
Furthermore,
in terms of improving bilateral trade relations, the importance of the
Turkey-UK Free Trade Agreement negotiations and the Turkey-EFTA Free Trade
Agreement, which is in the process of ratification in Parliament, were
underlined.
