has become directly and indirectly concerning for almost all sectors, “Demands
from different fields such as packaging, plastic, cosmetics, automotive, LPG
are delivered to our Union through our Sector Councils, Chambers and Exchanges.
We relay them all to our Ministry.”
- Hisarcıklıoğlu outlined common demands
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking
on the common demands: “Due to the fall in oil prices, economic stagnation and
coronavirus, GEKAP should be postponed until the end of 2020. To clarify the
issues that create confusion in regards to the application of the regulation.
Lowering the costs of GEKAP and re-determination of the amounts. The
declaration should be issued once a year, as in packaging waste in the pre-GEKAP
period. GEKAP should be charged from manufacturers instead of marketers. No VAT
should be applied to GEKAP cost. To reduce the penalties under the declaration
to a more reasonable level and to allow errors to be corrected.”
