Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu evaluated the New Economy Program announced by Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, covering the years 2021-2022-2023. Hisarcıklıoğlu, "By highlighting the private sector in the program focused on entrepreneurship, technology, high value added domestic production, targeting high growth of 5% and above has given excitement and morale to our private sector. We also welcome the continued steps to support the real sector, SMEs, producers and investments."
TOBB President
Hisarcıklıoğlu gave the following views in his assessment:
“In the New Economy
Program (YEP) announced by the Treasury and Finance Minister Mr. Berat
Albayrak, realistic measures and objectives have been set by accurately
identifying and diagnosing the situation and global developments in the
economy.
The focus on
entrepreneurship, technology and high value-added domestic production by
highlighting the private sector in the program, the goal of high growth of 5% and
above during the program period (2021-2023) has given excitement and morale to
our private sector.
We also welcome
continued steps to support the real sector, SMEs, manufacturers and
investments.
The planned steps will
carry Turkey to the centennial anniversary of our Republic. We think it will be
a roadmap for 2023, to guide the return to the new normal and adapt, thereby
transitioning to a strong and stable growth process.
We believe that the
program will give us a clearer view and momentum for economic activity and
bring our country forward on a global scale during this period of global
upheaval.
Turkey will hopefully
become a more competitive, higher value-added, stronger economy that will grow
by an average of 5% per year through the change and the transformation it will
implement decisively throughout this process will gradually lower inflation,
strengthen financial stability, achieve significant success in its current
balance and increase employment.
We, as the Turkish
business community, will continue to work with all our strength in line with
our country's goals."
