The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia region meeting held via video conference and held consultations with the Chamber/Commodity Exchange Presidents.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech here
that during the pandemic, chamber and commodity exchange presidents were the
voice of the regional business community and conveyed their problems. Stating
that after consultations in March, the 70-item proposal was presented to President
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “A large part of them came to life
and continues to pass. Here's the latest: VAT rate in the education sector has
been lowered. The period of benefit from the short work allowance has been
extended to 31 October. A new county-based restructuring has been initiated in
the Investment Incentive system.”
Touching on issues they are following up
on, the President of TOBB said, “The possibility of maturity should be brought
for tax-SSI payments, pending receivables in the public sector (especially in
the medical sector) (in cash or bonds) should be paid. Short work allowance
implementation should continue until the end of 2020. YEKDEM costs should be
reduced. GEKAP-related loads should be reduced/deferred until 2021. Covid-19
should not be covered under work accidents. The articles against the agencies
must be changed in the Insurance Agents Regulation. There are applications in
the market that disrupt public competition, they must be put to an end.
Measures should be taken against the high prices of inputs used in agricultural
production.”
