The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the heads of Muğla provincial/county Chamber/Exchanges, board members, council members and professional committees, women and young entrepreneurs during the joint meeting held via video conference.
Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that they carried out prompt
efforts with chambers and exchanges from the first moment the pandemic began, said,
“We collected information from all provinces and sectors. Muğla Chamber-Commodity
Exchange Presidents were interpreters of your problems and sent us your
demands. Allah bless them all and their efforts. With all this, we prepared a
70-item proposal set. We presented it to President Erdoğan in March. A large
part of them have been brought to reality.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu, giving examples of the
proposals implemented; Withholding-VAT-SSI payments in many sectors were
postponed for 6 months, tourism-restaurant-passenger transport sectors VAT reduced
from 8 to 1, Workplace Rent withholding reduced from 20% to 10%, Credit
Guarantee Fund (KGF) bail capacity increased, Public Banks with KGF guarantee introduced
low-interest loan packages, TOBB Breath Credits initiated with KGF guarantee,
and the terms of benefit from short work allowance have been improved, the
600-day period has been reduced to 450 days, the 120-day requirement has been
reduced to 60 days.
Hisarcıklıoğlu noting that they have continued
to work in coordination with chambers and exchanges, said that they conveyed
the demands to the Government, “Here is the latest, the VAT rate in the
education sector was lowered. The period of benefit from the short work
allowance has been extended to 31 October. A new county-based restructuring has
been initiated in the Investment Incentive system. A special funding support
package has been issued for the tourism sector. Finally, a new regulation on
the incentive of employment has been prepared.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu briefly mentioned the other
issues they are following up on, and that they will take every issue conveyed
at the meeting to their agenda.
