The president and members of the leading non-governmental organizations of Turkey's economy, led by M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), went to Baku for an extraordinary meeting of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Turkic CCI) with the “Special Agenda of Azerbaijan.”
Turkish business representatives will meet with their
interlocutors in support of Baku, which continues its fight against Armenia's
attacks and invasion attempts against Azerbaijan.
In addition to Hisarcıklıoğlu, the delegation included by Bendevi
Palandöken, President of the Confederation of Tradesmen and Artisans of Turkey
(TESK), Ergün Atalay, President of the Confederation of Turkish Workers' Unions
(Turk-İş), Ali Yalçın, President of the Confederation of Civil Memur-Sen, Önder
Kahveci, President of the Confederation of Rights Workers' Unions (Hak-İş),
Mahmut Arslan, Executive Board Member of the Confederation of Turkish
Employers' Unions (TİSK) Metin Demir and TOBB members.
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey will
participate in the Turkic CCI Meeting.
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Cabbarov and Deputy Foreign
Minister Ramiz Hasanov will also attend the meeting, which will be attended by
Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Turkish Council.
Hisarcıklıoğlu will be received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Simultaneously, members of the Turkish-EU JCC Turkey Wing will
meet with their interlocutors and hold bilateral meetings with a roundtable
planned under Cabbarov's presidency.
- Establishment and members of Turkic CCI
The Turkic CCI was established under the umbrella of the Turkish
Council on May 17, 2019 with an agreement signed in Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan.
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey signed the
agreement. Later, at the Leaders' Summit of the Turkic Council held in Baku on
October 14, 2019, Uzbekistan's membership in the Turkic Council was approved
and Uzbekistan was accepted into the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Turkic CCI's permanent secretariat is run from Istanbul.
