The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu participated in the “Updating the Turkey-EU Customs Union, Business Perspectives from Germany and Turkey” meeting organized by the Turkish German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TATSO) and expressed the views of the Turkish business world.

Günter Verheugen was the main speaker at the opening session where Rolf A.
Königs, President of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
Ambassador Susanne Schütz, Commissioner for Southeast Europe, Turkey, EFTA
countries, OSCE and Council of Europe, T.C. Ambassador to Berlin Ali Kemal Aydın,
Deputy Minister of Commerce Gonca Yılmaz Batur and Deputy Minister of Foreign
Affairs and Director for European Union Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı were
speakers.
In the panel section titled “Updating the
Turkey-EU Customs Union, Business Perspectives from Germany and Turkey,” which
was conducted by TEPAV Executive Director Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, General
Secretary of the Economic Development Foundation Dr. Çiğdem Nas, Bertelsmann
Foundation Senior Specialist in Trade and Globalization Dr. Christian Bluth,
AUNDE Technical Inc. Chairman Cesur Sünnetçioğlu and BEKO/Grundig Supply Chain
Manager Cristina Mandru contributed to the discourse.
