The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Central Anatolia and Black Sea Region meeting held via video conference and consulted with the heads of regional chambers/commodity exchanges.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
said that since the beginning of the pandemic, all chamber/commodity exchange
heads have consulted with their members and conveyed their problems as interlocutors.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
explained that as TOBB, they communicate these problems to the government and
have produced solutions in many areas. “Condensed-VAT-SSI payments were
postponed for 6 months in the sectors with the most difficulties. VAT rates in
the Tourism-Restaurant-Passenger Transport-Education sectors were reduced. The
public administration dues, such as tax-SSI, was provided with the possibility
of maturity for debts. Workplace rent withholdings have been reduced. Payments
to the public in the tourism sector and accommodation tax have been deferred.
Cash support payments were made to tradesmen, private companies and small
businesses which lost turnover. Improved the conditions for benefiting from the
Short Work Allowance. After the latest statements made together, it was
extended until the end of June.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu
stated that low-interest loan packages were issued by Public Banks with the
guarantee of the Credit Guarantee Fund, and thus 150 billion Liras of loan
support was provided to 200,000 enterprises.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
also emphasized that TOBB and 365 Chambers-Exchanges have been campaigning for
Breath Credits during the periods when economic difficulties are most intensely
felt, combining all their resources with the resources of banks and providing
low-cost loan support to members.
