06.10.2021 Gaziantep
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening ceremony of EXPOBEL Environment, Urbanization and Technologies Fair organized by the Union of Municipalities of Turkey in Gaziantep.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated
that he is honored to be in Gaziantep, where industry, production and hard work
have become halal earnings, and said that they see Gaziantep as the shining
star of Turkey.
Hisarcıklıoğlu
emphasized that Gaziantep has set a historical record despite many problems
inside and outside. “In the monthly export volume, you are reaching 1 billion
dollars. As the 5th highest exporting city in Turkey, you send your
goods to 190 countries on 6 continents. In the list of the 1000 largest
exporters, with 73 companies, you show your entrepreneurial power as the 3rd
City with the most companies. That's the Gaziantep difference. Antep doesn't
make excuses, it produces jobs. Despite the pandemic conditions, I
wholeheartedly congratulate and honor our traders and industrialists,
entrepreneurs and employees who work with dedication.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed
out that promotion is as important as production, “Because fairs are the
showcase of production. With such beautiful fairs, you market the products in
the best way. You advertise the manufacturer and the product. You're promoting
both our goods and our culture. You uphold our indigenous and national values.
Here is a difference of Gaziantep.”
At the same time,
Gaziantep is a city that protects, develops and differentiates these values,
the TOBB President said, underlining that it inspires all of Turkey and that
the way to enrich local development and cities is promotion and branding.
Hisarciklıoğlu said
that in Gaziantep, both the governor and the mayors, together with the
chambers, have taken care of this fair and the producers; coming together,
joining hands and working together to develop and enrich Gaziantep.
Reminding that
Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin was elected as the Champion of
Inclusive Growth among OECD countries with her exemplary municipal work in
Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We were with her again when she received this
award, which she deserved. We lived this pride together. I wholeheartedly
congratulate Fatma Şahin, who brought her success to the international arena.
In addition, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our governor, all
our mayors, my Chamber and Commodity Exchange presidents, who are all Antep
lovers; our heroic entrepreneurs who continued to produce and export despite
all the difficulties.”
Thanking Hülya Akkaya,
Akort Fairs Board Chair, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “She is very active in our
community as well as successful in his work. The first female councilor of our
Chamber of Commerce and a Delegate to TOBB. She is also Vice President of TOBB
Fair Industry Council. Coming under TOBB's umbrella ended the irregularity and
inferiority of the fairs. The sector has achieved a standard and order. In
this, the Exhibition Sector Council and itself have made great efforts. Allah
bless your hard work. I hope that thanks to such beautiful fairs, my Gaziantep
brothers will win and Turkey will win.”
