Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry New Service Building Opening Ceremony was held with the participation of M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated
that chambers have become the main service center of the real sector, “So their
institutional service capacity should be at the highest point. Yalova Chamber
of Commerce and Industry is already accredited. It offers 5-star service. They
are doing a lot of good work. For the development and enrichment of Yalova,
they do their part.”
Emphasizing that all
these works have paid off, Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “Ten years ago, there was no
one from Yalova among the 1000 largest industrial enterprises. Now you're in
this ranking with 4 companies. With the Osmangazi bridge, the land value of
this place has increased a lot. Our chamber aims to evaluate the land at hand
in the best way by presenting the right vision. In this context, it wants to
bring the production of high-tech, high-value-added products to Yalova. One of
them is carbon fiber production and one of the main facilities in the world is
now operating in Yalova. I am also pleased to learn that our chamber is working
to establish a Technopark in Yalova. Our Women and Young entrepreneurs will
thus have an area where they can turn their brilliant ideas into products. In
addition, 4 of our companies have established an R&D Center and one of our companies
has established a Design Center.”
The TOBB President said
that they are proud that all 3 OIZs that will be operational soon are going to
be environmentally friendly and green. “Once the OIZs come to life, hopefully
Yalova will make another leap and attract billions of dollars in investment.
Yalova is also a city of environment and nature. An oxygen tank between
Istanbul, Kocaeli and Bursa. And your coastline is long. You have a rare
thermal spa like no other in the world. That's why it's been where emperors
came from roman times, where they restored morale and energy. In short, Yalova
is a great geography with its natural resources and beauties. It gives you
peace with its green and blue.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said
that there is great potential for health tourism in Yalova, and that a tourist
who comes for health leaves 10 times the money that normally comes.
“This great region also
has fertile soils,” Hisarcıklıoğlu said, adding that Yalova provides a quarter
of the cut flower production, and that the chamber's attempt to hold a flower
festival to brand Yalova's name in this area is a very correct step.
Noting that the ship
industry is developing rapidly along with shipyards in Yalova, Hisarciklıoğlu
said, “President Tahsin said that every month a ship is constructed. You even
sold ships to a country like Norway that specializes in this. This is a
singular entrepreneurial achievement, congratulations.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded
that Yalova CCI has a protocol for cooperation with universities and shipyards to
solve the problem of intermediate staff.
“And don't we have any
problems? Of course we do,” Hisarcıklıoğlu said. We visited our chamber 3
months ago and discussed this at our 1.50 a.m. Council Meeting. Our friends in
the Administration and Council of our Chamber shared their troubles. So I took
these and forwarded them to the relevant places. But let me tell you, despair
is unbecoming of an entrepreneurial spirit. We have overcome many difficult
processes and moved on. We have the will and the means to overcome all
adversity. As long as we stand united. Thank you, Governor, Our Deputies, our
Mayor. When it comes to Yalova, they stand united. That's the formula that
makes a city a brand. I would like to thank them individually for this.”
