The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu participated in the celebration program to mark the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STSO).
Speaking at the program
held at Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Cultural Center, Hisarcıklıoğlu said he was honored
to be in Sivas, the city of valiant people, where the fight for independence
and the fire of independence were born.
“I would like to
commemorate Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, the very precious son of Sivas and my dear
friend, in the 12th year of his march to martyrdom. With his faith,
patriotism, struggle, honesty and good morals, he was a true Alperen.”
Stating that it was a
special and meaningful day for Sivas, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We are together on
the 120th anniversary of the founding of STSO, one of the most
established institutions not only in our community, but also in our country. We
should all be proud of our Chamber for the experience and dignity of 120 years,
the institutional structure it has continuously strengthened, the projects it
has implemented and the work it has brought to Sivas.”
Thanking STSO President
Mustafa Eken and all the bodies of the Chamber for their service,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “We should all be proud of our Chamber for the experience
and dignity of 120 years, the institutional structure it has continuously
strengthened, the projects it has implemented and the work it has brought to
Sivas. I wish you many years of success in this 120-year oak. There's another
good thing I've observed: Our governor, our mayor, the chamber and the
commodity exchange are all together. They are joining hands for the development
of Sivas. Here they are all thinking and working on how to bring Sivas to the
forefront by holding a 'Common Sense Workshop'. So when it comes to Sivas, all
Sivas are one and together. If there's unity somewhere, your back won't go
down. That's the formula for being a brand city. I see the efforts to make
Sivas both an industrial city, an agricultural city and a tourism city.”
- “Ankara-Sivas
high-speed train line must be completed”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated
that Sivas is a city that upholds its values, “I hope that the future of Sivas
will be as bright as its past. For this purpose, the road connecting the Black
Sea and the Mediterranean via Sivas must be completed. In this way, Sivas will
be connected to the sea and will have the port. It will also be easier for
Sivas to export. The Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line must be completed.
Thus, Sivas should become the center that connects both north and south, as
well as east and west.”
Governor Salih Ayhan,
AK Party Sivas MP Semiha Ekinci, Mayor Hilmi Bilgin and STSO President Mustafa
Eken celebrated the 120th anniversary of the founding of the
Chamber.
Plaques were given to
STSO's 60 and 40 year members and tax record holders, and the 120th
anniversary cake was cut.
At the end of the
program, the Antakya Civilizations Choir gave a performance.
