Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Mehmet Yetim and Assembly Speaker Serhat Karadağ visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office with their delegation.
At the reception, TOBB
President Hisarcıklıoğlu wished success for the new term efforts and conveyed
his good wishes.
Mehmet Yetim, in his
statement after the visit, gave the following opinions: “Our elections were
held on October 30. 13,500 of our 16,000 members are active. Of those, 9,000
members were eligible to vote. Our elections ended in a democratic environment
without any problems. Our turnout was 90 percent. This added value to our
Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We are aware of this. Our election for the
Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Assembly was also held on November
6. It was also carried out in a democratic environment. Our council members
used their votes in favor of us in the elections for the Board of Directors and
the Presidency of the Assembly. This adds a great responsibility to us. We are
aware of this. I hope we will be successful.
In the previous Board
of Directors, I was the Vice Chairman, and in the previous one I was a council
member. I completed my 8th year at Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
I have been a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 25 years. Therefore,
I am a member of TOBB. Our company is in Urfa. We follow our President Rifat.
President Rifat defends our rights. He solves our problems. He works day and
night for the realization of our projects, for the development of Urfa, of
Türkiye. We are aware of this. We thank him for his kindness. I wish you all
success. I hope we will serve our country together. We will support them as
delegates of Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for President Rifat to
serve another term as President in the General Assembly election. Because
President Rifat has a lot of work to do. We will support him for the business
world, for us, for our country. I hope he will be re-elected and continue his
mission.”
