At the reception, TOBB
President Hisarcıklıoğlu wished success for the new term efforts and conveyed
his good wishes.
In his statement after
the visit, Şekib Avdagiç said: “As you know, all chamber and commodity exchange
elections in Türkiye were held in October and November. At the beginning of
November, we completed our committee elections and then our board of directors
and other body elections. We have experienced the elections held with the highest
participation so far in the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce. 47,500 people voted.
Therefore, there was 50 percent more votes than in the previous election. We
elected our 273 councilors and in the following week for the 21st
term we elected our board of directors, our council presiding council, our
chambers union delegates, our disciplinary board. At the moment, we have started to work to
actualize the expectations, demands, complaints and projects of the İstanbul
business world. Therefore, I hope that it will be possible to carry out a
process that will increase the level of prosperity in a much more economic
sense for our whole country in this period under the chairmanship of our
President Rifat under the management of our Union of Chambers together with all
chambers and commodity exchanges in Türkiye. In this process, as the İstanbul
Chamber of Commerce, we will continue our work both in the Chamber and in the
affiliated organizations.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu
and I have served as the President of the Chamber of Commerce and the President
of the Assembly since 2005. So there is a process that we have been carrying
out with him for a very long time. I hope that as the İstanbul Chamber of
Commerce, we will give the necessary support as İstanbul in order to have our
Rifat President re-elected at the General Assembly of the Union of Chambers and
Commodity Exchanges to be held in 2023. I hope that after this election is
completed, we will spend the next period working for the welfare of this
country with all our mechanisms.”
