Mersin Commodity Exchange Chairman Abdullah Özdemir and Assembly Speaker Münir Şen, together with their delegation, visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office.
At the reception, TOBB
President Hisarcıklıoğlu wished success for the new term efforts and conveyed
his good wishes.
Abdullah Özdemir, in
his statement after the visit, gave the following opinions: “We have held the
elections of our Commodity Exchange in Mersin. I would like to state that I am happy
to be re-elected and to provide the necessary service to our members. After
being elected, we came to visit Mr. President together with the board of
directors, our council members and delegates. We had a very productive meeting.
He is a person with whom we have been working for years, with whom we have
explained our problems and who has found solutions. Allah bless him. I have
been working with him since he became President in 2001. The Union of Chambers
and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye is represented in 81 provinces and 160
districts with 365 chambers and commodity exchanges. This is a great area of
representation. It is also Türkiye's largest non-governmental organization. We have about 1.5
million members. Even if our members had a family union of 3 people. If we
multiply by 4 we get 6 million. 6 million if at least 4 people work in each
enterprise. If we multiply this by nuclear family 3, the nuclear family is 18
million. If we add 18 to 6, we are the soldiers of an organization that appeals
to an audience of 24-30 million. Mr. President has been serving this
organization very successfully for many years. TOBB in 2001 is very different
from TOBB now. This is the case both in Türkiye and in the international arena.
Mr. President does not only represent us in Türkiye, he also represents us in
the world. This swells our chest and pushes TOBB's value even higher. I am with
Mr. Rifat in this term as well. I support Mr. Rifat and prefer to work with him
and support him as TOBB President.”
