17.03.2023 Ordu
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Ordu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OTSO). Hisarcıklıoğlu, OTSO Chairman Adil Levent Karlıbel, Assembly Speaker Necat Avcı, Board of Directors and Assembly Members conveyed their good wishes and wished success in the new period.
Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his
speech during the visit, said that they went to many of the provinces in the
region with OTSO President Adil Levent Karlıbel. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that
there was a great solidarity after the earthquake and that whoever provided
support to whatever opportunity they had, and pointed out the importance of the
Turkish nation's sense of unity and solidarity.
Stating that nearly
5,000 aid trucks were sent as the business world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We
currently have ready kitchens in 10 different places. Our brothers and sisters
there receive three meals. In Ramadan, they will all be open again, providing
suhoor and iftar.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu,
emphasizing that the labor force should not be lost in the earthquake region,
continued: “It is an important agricultural region, an important industrial
zone. We also need to lose the workforce here. Because in many places our
brothers and sisters are hospitable, but we need to maintain the vitality of
the economy of the cities there. Therefore, they need tents and containers so
that they can return to their normal lives. Temporarily, but mainly a house is
needed where they will make their homes. Together, we must support this
together. That's our job.”
Reminding that they
have launched the “My supplier is from the earthquake zone” campaign for the
region in question, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This is more important than giving
money. The same producer exists in İstanbul. Buy it from here and let the wheel
turn there. It must turn.”
Emphasizing that they
want especially food retailers to provide their needs from this region,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “As you know, there are e-commerce marketplaces. Our
brothers in this region have started with zero commission for the products they
sell, the products they produce, Hepsiburada and Trendyol have started now;
they receive zero commission from our brothers here. Everyone is trying to do
their best.”
- “People are embracing their own automobile”
Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded
that the last time he came to Ordu, he said, “Allah willing, Türkiye's car will
come out in March,” and added: “Allah has blessed it. With the power we receive
from the private sector, we will launch Togg for the first time with a Turkish
brand that belongs to Türkiye and is 100 percent ours. Sales in the first two
days are above those we anticipated by the end of this year. The current demand
is exactly 4 times higher than Türkiye's electric car sold last year. People
are embracing their own automobile. This shows that.”
