- ASO President Ardıç
Seyit Ardıç, President
of Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), said that innovation and technology are
the most important source of power and wealth for economies, and that Europe,
which lags behind the US in groundbreaking technologies, aims to achieve
superiority through green transformation.
Stating that carbon
emission reduction strategies have become of primary importance, Ardıç said,
“European countries aim to increase their power by carrying the flag at the
forefront in this transformation.”
Ardıç said that the
most important problem of the age is global climate change, and that this is
among the important phenomena that will reshape relations between countries in
the near future.
Pointing out that the
search for diversification and regionalization of supply chains in the world is
a great opportunity for Türkiye, Ardıç continued as follows: “Türkiye has a
unique potential to become the logistics hub of Europe and Asia due to its
geopolitical and geostrategic location. Along with international
transportation, we must also develop domestic transportation and
transportation. We must connect the centers of our cities with production
areas. We must accelerate transportation and infrastructure investments that
will connect Anatolian industry to ports and foreign markets. We need to
accelerate energy transformation to achieve carbon neutrality. It is important
that our state, our nation and our business world make an all-out effort. We
will need long-term and robust supply security strategies.”
Seyit Ardıç also
touched upon the issues that they consider important for the development of Ankara's
industry, stating that the capital stands out with its strong sectors such as
defense, machinery, medical, transportation, electricity and mining industries
and contracting.
Noting that the number
of direct international flights to the city should be increased, Ardıç said
that the metro project to the airport should be realized.
