21.10.2023 Kayseri
The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Kayseri Commodity Exchange Livestock Market Opening Ceremony.
In his speech here,
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Kayseri is not only a city of trade, industry
and education, but also a city of agriculture and animal husbandry.
Congratulating Kayseri Commodity Exchange for its activities in the field of
agriculture and animal husbandry, TOBB President said, “Again today, I
wholeheartedly congratulate our chamber of commerce and chamber of industry,
which are working non-stop to make Kayseri the center of attraction of our
country. I would like to thank our Kayseri Chambers and Commodity Exchanges for
their beautiful hosting here today. They are holding joint meetings in unity
and solidarity. We have 6 Chambers and Commodity Exchanges in Kayseri. 5 of
them are accredited. In other words, they provide 5-star service. I hope the
remaining one will also be accredited.”
M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu
pointed out that they also work together with the Presidents of the Chambers and
Exchanges in Kayseri in the commissions and boards in TOBB and said, “They
represent Kayseri in Ankara in the best way. We benefit from their knowledge
and experience. They are doing their part and working for the development and
enrichment of Kayseri.”
- “We need more entrepreneurs”
Pointing out in his
speech that Türkiye needs more entrepreneurs, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have
realized our dream of producing a national automobile, which was left
unfinished 60 years ago. Fortunately, we have started to see TOGG on the roads
of Kayseri. It is a source of pride and honor for all of us that this
initiative, of which our community is a founding partner, has been successful.
Last week, we experienced great joy as the Turkish business world. As the
president of the Turkish business world, I was elected as the President of the
World Federation of Chambers, which unites the Chambers of 115 countries under
one roof. This is a pride for me on behalf of the Turkish business world and on
behalf of Kayseri.”
Stating that they are
holding regional meetings in Ankara and that they are listening to the problems
and demands of the chambers and commodity exchanges, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We
will continue to follow all the issues coming from you and transfer them to our
President and relevant Ministers.”
Explaining that two
Turkish populations are added to the world population every year,
Hisarcıklıoğlu continued as follows: “In the last 10 years, 500 million people
have moved from low-income to middle-income groups. When they did, they started
to consume. In the coming period, whoever is engaged in agriculture and animal
husbandry has a very clear path ahead of them. These lands have all the soil
and climate that are self-sufficient. Let's appreciate and protect this.
Türkiye has the highest number of cattle and sheep in Europe. This means that
we have an open road ahead of us in this regard. As the Union of Chambers and
Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, we are realizing projects that will develop the
sector together with our commodity exchanges. One of them is licensed
warehousing, which is not available in Türkiye and which we included in our law
in 2004. Unfortunately, no one in Türkiye had any information about licensed
warehousing. After 2010, in Türkiye, our products are now stored and traded in
licensed warehouses in grain without spoiling and we have become able to sell
our products all over Türkiye and the world with the product specialization
exchange.”
- Kayseri CE President Bağlamış
Recep Bağlamış,
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kayseri Commodity Exchange, said the
city is Türkiye's largest producer of pastrami, sausage and roasted meat.
Pointing out the
importance of the livestock exchange and market place, Bağlamış said, “We will
provide our breeders who have difficulty in selling their animals in our city
and the region with the opportunity to sell their products at the right price
by providing sales opportunities in a modern facility, and we will ensure that
animal buyers supply animals at the right price in a safe and modern
environment.
With the livestock
market, we will also ensure that animal sales, which are uncontrolled and
scattered in some regions, are regularized, environmental and visual pollution
is prevented, an auditable and safe market environment is created, and buyers
and sellers meet in a specifically appointed location.”
Governor Gökmen Çiçek
also congratulated Bağlamış and his administration for their successful
projects.
Mayor of Metropolitan
Municipality Memduh Büyükkılıç expressed his wishes for the service to benefit the
city.
After the speeches, the
livestock exchange and marketplace were opened for service.
