The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held consultations with the Council and Professional Committee Members.
In his speech here,
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that after the local elections were over, TOBB and the
business world had an economy-oriented process on their agenda.
Reminding that the
Turkish business world has 4 years without elections ahead of it,
Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The periods when structural reforms are made are also
periods without elections. Because when structural reforms are made, it hurts a
little bit for whomever it concerns at first, but afterwards it is bright.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu
explained that as TOBB, they aim to work hand in hand and bring Türkiye to the
places it deserves, and said:
“What is our goal? Our
first goal is that as the Turkish private sector, we have written and continue
to write a great success story. We are the country that exports to the most
countries in the world. Do not underestimate. There is America, China, this
country, that country, whoever you can think of. This means that we produce
high quality products, and that we can compete with the world in price
competition. Here, hopefully, our goal is to see our country among the top 10
largest economies in the world.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu
emphasized that the biggest task of TOBB is to convey the problems of the
chambers of commerce and industry of the provinces in Türkiye to the political
will and to show the solutions, and noted that it is the job of the political
power to determine whether to solve or not and how to take action.
Underlining that Bursa
has become Türkiye's leading city in automotive, Hisarcıklıoğlu made the
following assessment:
“All clustering happens
here by itself. Your sub-industry has almost surpassed the main manufacturer in
terms of exports. Almost all parts for the world's automobiles go from Bursa.
We will be proud. In the past, we couldn't even imagine these things, but
today, the cars traveling around the world have Bursa's mark on them. Bursa,
which is the production center of Türkiye in machinery and textiles, is rapidly
progressing towards becoming the production center of high technology sectors.
I would like to thank our president, his administration, his council, our
general secretary and his entire staff for their visionary understanding.”
BTSO President İbrahim
Burkay stated that the wars in Türkiye's environs, the obstacles to global
trade and the tested high inflation environment increase the burden on the
shoulders of the real sector day by day.
Explaining that high
costs in production, stagnation in export markets and changing competition
conditions make the mobility of companies more and more difficult day by day,
Burkay said, “On the other hand, economic policies have moved to a rational
ground since the second half of last year. Our state has started to establish a
much stronger and healthier communication with our business world. At the point
we have reached, the continuation of the fight against inflation with
determination, the establishment of price stability and financial stability,
and ensuring macroeconomic predictability are among our priority expectations
in this period.”
